THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The doctors who conducted the autopsy of Gopan Swamy are relying on three crucial test reports to determine if the death was natural or not. The doctors doubt whether the sacred ash has entered Gopan Swamy’s lungs leading to the death. If the ash has entered the lungs, it may cause suffocation and would end in a heart attack. The doctors informed me that the lung fluid had been sent for testing.
Meanwhile, a black inflammatory mark was spotted on the forehead portion of Gopan Swamy. Doctors have not been able to understand precisely because it is a degenerative condition. Histopathology results are required to clarify this. Chemical tests of internal organs should also be obtained to check for toxicity. These three test results are vital to ascertaining the real cause of death. Chemical test results should also come out to determine the exact time of death.
Councilor Prasanna Kumar said the body of Gopan Swamy, who claimed to have attained Samadhi in Neyyattinkara, was not in a decomposed state. The body was taken out after demolishing the burial crypt in the presence of Prasanna Kumar, a public representative. The body was found in a sitting posture, surrounded by sacred ashes and other ritual materials.
