THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Neyyattinkara Additional Sessions Court will pronounce the verdict in the sensational Sharon murder case in Neyyattinkara today. The verdict is after a three-year trial. Sharon's lover Greeshma is the first accused in the case. Greeshma's mother Sindhu is the second and her brother Nirmala Kumaran Nair is the third accused.

One can’t imagine about the grief of parents when their son dies. The death is devastating and will be the worst experience a parent can endure. While talking to the media, Sharon's father said that he hopes the accused will get severe punishment. 'I hope the verdict will be favorable. I was there when Sharon came home that day. He vomited several times and then went to his room. After a while, he said that he wants to go to the hospital. He said Greeshma gave him some ayurvedic medicine (kashayam) and that she had mixed something in it and that he would die. If my son was alive, we would have lived comfortably. Just think about the overwhelming suffering of his parents, who gave him a good education and raised him till 23,' he said.

Sharon's mother said Greeshma will get maximum punishment. ‘Going through a severe mental sorrow. The whole day we are thinking about him and are grief-stricken. I am living dead. She will get maximum punishment. I cannot live without my son,’ she said. His mother still keeps Sharon's room the same as it was then.

Special Public Prosecutor V S Vineeth Kumar had earlier argued that the charges of poisoning, murder and misleading the investigation team were proven against Greeshma. The prosecutor also argued that the charges of destroying evidence were proven against Sindhu and Nirmala Kumaran Nair.

The defence argued that the first accused, who has suicidal tendencies, prepared the poison to commit suicide. When Greeshma entered the washroom, Sharon drank the kashayam and left the house.

The case is that Greeshma mixed poison in the kashayam to get rid of her lover Sharon Raj on October 14, 2022. He died while undergoing treatment in the ICU of the medical college hospital. The case was investigated by a special investigation team formed by D Shilpa, the then Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP.
