THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sharon's parents responded soon after the verdict in the Sharon murder case. His parents said they are happy for finding Greeshma guilty, but her mother should not have been acquitted.

'Isn’t her mother Sindhu also guilty, then why was she acquitted? Didn't her mother also join her? Don't know anything clearly. We were convinced that Greeshma will be punished. Her mother should also be convicted.

We are satisfied with the verdict finding Greeshma guilty. However, disappointed for acquitting her mother. We will decide on the appeal after tomorrow's verdict. They should be awarded maximum punishment. The media, police officers and the government all supported,' said his parents.

Neyyattinkara sessions court judge A M Basheer pronounced the verdict in the case. Greeshma was found guilty under sections 302, 328, 364 and 201. Greeshma's mother, the second accused, was acquitted due to lack of evidence. Greeshma's uncle, the third accused in the case, was also found guilty. He was charged with destroying evidence. This is a crime punishable by up to seven years in prison. The investigating officers said they are satisfied with the verdict.

The case is that Greeshma poisoned her lover Sharon Raj as she wanted him out of her life to marry a soldier on October 14, 2022. Sharon Raj died on the 11th day while undergoing treatment in the ICU of the medical college.
