THIRUVANANTHPURAM: A UK citizen of Malayali origin has been arrested in a case for making communal remarks directed at a couple aboard the Vande Bharat train. The arrested person has been identified as Anand Mathew (54), a native of Kottayam. He allegedly spoke inappropriately to a couple from Vizhinjam.

The accused reportedly asked, "Have those who opposed the Vande Bharat now started using it?" Anand Mathew holds British citizenship and is reportedly a nurse in the UK. The Railway Police have stated that non-bailable charges have been filed against the accused in connection with the incident.
