KOLKATA: The CPM Central Committee is discussing the proposal to maintain the 75-year age limit for leaders. Discussions are ongoing to finalize the draft political resolution for the 24th Party Congress to be held in Madurai. The meeting in Kolkata will conclude today.

Leaders like Pinarayi Vijayan, Prakash Karat, Brinda Karat, Manik Sarkar, Surjya Kanta Mishra, G. Ramakrishnan, and Subhashini Ali will be affected by the 75-year age limit. It is unclear whether an exception will be made for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The 75-year age limit was decided at the Party Congress held in Kannur.
