THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: D Shilpa, who was the investigating officer, responded after capital punishment was awarded to Greeshma, the first accused in the Sharon murder case. Shilpa said that she is very happy with the verdict.

‘Faced many difficulties at time of the investigation. Greeshma tried to divert the case several times, but we were able to collect evidence and move forward. This was an investigation conducted as a team. Her maternal uncle was given only a three-year jail term. If possible, will appeal it,' she clarified.

DySP K J Johnson, the investigating officer told media that Sharon case is a success of teamwork. The police team worked day and night to find evidence in the Sharon case. Greeshma had tried to divert the investigation. Johnson also clarified that Greeshma confessed to the crime when she could not hold on further.

Neyyattinkara Additional Sessions Court Judge A M Basheer pronounced the verdict in the Sharon murder case. The hearing was completed in three months. The court lauded the investigating officers. The court pointed that the police had changed the investigation method according to the times.

Sharon did not want Greeshma to be punished. Even on his deathbed, Sharon loved Greeshma. Greeshma's name was not mentioned even in his death statement. The court observed that whether Sharon had a complaint or not is not relevant here and Greeshma cannot be given age relaxation.

She tried to kill him even during their relationship. Greeshma's act was a betrayal of trust. The verdict also clarified that the attempted murder was proven. When Greesha gave him juice, Sharon felt that there was something wrong with it and that is why he filmed the video. Even on his deathbed, Sharon called Greeshma ‘vave’. The court also pointed out that there is no evidence for Sharon beating the accused.
