THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The scooter used by the accused in the incident where a woman was stabbed to death at her house in Kadinamkulam has been found. Her scooter was found in Chirayinkeezhu railway station. The police believe that the accused may have reached here in the scooter after committing the crime and later have escaped in a train. The scooter was parked near the railway ticket counter. The police will check the vehicle today.
The police have found the house where the man stayed in Perumathura. He left the house Monday evening and did not return after that. The house was rented a few days ago. The police will search the house today. The investigation is being conducted by four teams. The case is being investigated by the Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP, Attingal DySP's team, DANSAF and the Kadinamkulam-Chirayinkeezhu police.
Athira (30), wife of Rajeev, a priest at the Bharanikad Bhagavathy temple in Kadinamkulam was found murdered yesterday at her rented house near the temple. The police investigation is focusing on Athira's Instagram friend, a youth from Ernakulam.
Rajeev, who went to the temple at 5:30 am yesterday, found her lying dead when he returned at 11:30 am. She had a deep cut on her neck and was bleeding. Her scooter was also missing. Neighbors told the police that they saw Athira dropping her child to school at 8:30 am. So, the police believe that the murder was committed in between 8:30 and 11:30 am. However, no one had seen anyone entering the house. The police believe that the accused reached the house by jumping the wall. Rajeev has told police that her Instagram friend had threatened to kill her.
