DUBAI: Indian pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah retained first rank in the international Test cricket rankings. Bumrah is at the top with 908 points. This is Bumrahâs career-best rating. Aussie skipper Pat Cummins finished second with 841 points. South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada is third with 837 points.
Bumrah has retained the top spot with the highest rating points ever achieved by an Indian bowler. This was based on the star bowler's scintillating performance last year. Bumrah was also selected as the best male player of December by the International Cricket Council for his excellent performance against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Bumrah took 22 wickets at an average of 14.22 in three Test matches in December.
Although India lost the series against the Aussies by 1-3, the man of the series trophy came to Bumrah as a laurel for his valiant performance. The 30-year-old star already has 200 wickets in his vault, and there is more in the offing.
