HYDERABAD: A man, who killed his wife, chopped her body parts and then cooked it in a pressure cooker, has been arrested. The dead is Venkata Madhavi (35). The police have arrested her husband Guru Murthy (45) of Hyderabad. In order to cover up the crime, he chopped her body into pieces and then cooked it in the pressure cooker. He had lodged a missing complaint of his wife. The truth came to light when the police investigation was going on.
Venkata Madhavi was missing from January 16. When the investigation started, the police were suspicious of her husband. He confessed to the crime during interrogation. He told police how he killed his wife and what he did to destroy evidence. Meantime, the police have not disclosed anything about the circumstances leading to the murder.
He chopped the body in the bathroom and boiled the parts in a pressure cooker. He then separated the bones from the parts, ground them using a pestle and boiled it again. After cooking it for multiple rounds, he packed and dumped them into the Meerpet Lake.
Guru Murthy, a former soldier, is presently a security guard with the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO). The couple has two children-- boy and a girl.
The couple had frequent fights. The reason for the murder is not clear. The police are investigating the case.
