THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In addition to the 15 locations previously identified as suitable for establishing beer and wine parlours in connection with tourism development, the Excise Department has now announced a list of 74 more centres. This is in addition to the approximately 200 beer and wine parlours currently operating in the state.
Restaurants with adequate qualifications can also apply for a beer parlour license. In 2023, the Excise Department granted licenses to the 15 centers identified by the Tourism Department. The new locations have been announced as a continuation of that initiative. The license fee for a beer parlour is ₹4 lakh.
