THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The ration traders will go ahead with the shop closing strike from Monday, raising various demands. The traders have stated that they will go ahead with the strike from January 27 after the negotiations with the ministers failed. Minister GR Anil informed in the discussion that the commission cannot be increased due to the financial crisis. The Minister also said that the recommendations of the Pay Revision Committee can be discussed with the ration traders. The ministers demanded that the strike be withdrawn, but the traders said that they will go ahead with the strike from January 27 if the demands are not accepted. The traders also alleged that the Finance Minister did not participate in the discussion even for five minutes.
The ration traders have announced the strike with the demands of revising the wage package and solving the problems related to the welfare fund. Finance Minister KN Balagopal and Food and Civil Supplies Minister GR Anil held discussions with the traders.
