NEW YORK: The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has stated that there is no need for concern regarding US President Donald Trump’s announcement to deport undocumented immigrants. Ministry spokesperson Randeep Jaiswal clarified that Indians residing in the US without proper documentation will be repatriated based on verified citizenship records.

Jaiswal emphasized that individuals identified as undocumented Indian immigrants in the US will be brought back to India after verifying their citizenship through relevant documentation. He reiterated India’s opposition to illegal immigration and noted that Indians residing abroad must provide valid proof of their nationality to facilitate their repatriation. Proper documentation will ensure a smooth process for their return.

He also mentioned that India has conveyed its protest to the US regarding the participation of Khalistani extremist Gurpatwant Pannun at President Trump’s inaugural ceremony.

Meanwhile, White House sources revealed that the Trump administration arrested 538 undocumented immigrants within its first three days in office. Hundreds of these individuals were reportedly deported via military aircraft, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
