SRINAGAR: Just one day before the Republic Day celebrations in India, militants opened firing at the Army at Kathua in Kashmir on Saturday. The clash is still ongoing. The army has launched a massive search for terrorists after they launched an attack targeting security forces this morning.
The attack took place when the army was carrying out a search operation in Kathua's Bhatod area following the suspected presence of terrorists. Around 1.20 am, soldiers of the army camp in Bhatod panchayat detected suspicious movements and opened fire.
The gunfight continued for half an hour as the terrorists retaliated. In the latest report, the Army informed that the terrorists escaped while there were no reported causalities.
