KOCHI: Former chairperson of St Teresa's College and film actor Nikita Nayyar died here on Sunday. She was 21. She was a B.Sc Psychology student. She died while undergoing treatment for a rare disease called Wilson's Disease. She is a native of Karunagappally in Kollam.

She had acted as a child artist in 'Marykkundoro Kunjaadu' directed by director Shafi, who passed away the other day. She had undergone liver transplant surgery twice. The second surgery was done a week ago.

She leaves behind her father Dony Thomas (USA), mother Namita Madhavan (Kappa TV). A public homage will be held on Monday from 8 am at her house in Netaji Nagar in Edappally.
