The teaser of Mohanlal's much-awaited second installment of Lucifer, 'Empuraan', has been released. The teaser launch took place at 7:07 pm at the Le Meridien Hotel in Kochi. This day has been chosen for the teaser launch as part of Aashirvad Cinemas' 25th anniversary celebrations.

Empuraan is a film that the audience eagerly waits for after the huge success of Lucifer. Prithviraj Sukumaran made his directorial debut with Lucifer, which hit the theatres in 2019. In addition to Malayalam, the film will also be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi languages.

The shooting of the film, which was announced in 2019 following the success of Lucifer, began in October 2023. It is reported that the film has been shot in about twenty foreign countries. Along with the UK and the US, Russia is also a major location for the film. Lucifer actors Prithviraj, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Shakti Kapoor, Indrajith, Baiju Santosh, Saniya Iyyappan, and others are strong presences in this film. Sujith Vasudev has handled the cinematography and Deepak Dev has composed the music for the film. Akhilesh Mohan is the editor and Mohandas is the art director.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Aashirvad Cinemas made its debut on January 26, 2000, with the film Narasimham. Now, 25 years later, Empuran is all set to write a new chapter in the history of Malayalam cinema. The film is being produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions, a leading Tamil banner.
