WAYANAD: The tiger that had mauled a woman identified as Radha to death and injuring Jayasurya, a member of the RRT, has been found dead. The tiger's body was found at Pilakavu near Pancharakolly. There were injuries on the tiger's body. Two deep wounds were found on the tiger's neck. The forest department said this may be following an encounter with another tiger. The office of the forest minister confirmed that the dead was the man-eating tiger.

The conservation biologist clarified that the tiger that killed Radha on Friday was the one died and also pointed the marks on its body. The tiger first arrived at a place called Moonu Road near Pilakavu at 12.30 am. The mission team led by Dr Arun Zakaria tried to capture the tiger after sedating it. Later, around 2.30 am, the tiger was found again and the mission team tried to capture it. Meanwhile, the tiger was found in a weak condition and died soon. The tiger's body was taken to the base camp and shown to the people. A detailed postmortem will be conducted soon to clarify the cause of death.
