WAYANAD: The man-eating female tigress that killed Radha in Pancharakolly was nearly around seven years old. The images of the same tigress were captured on all the 38 cameras installed by the forest department. The tigressട body was found in a land near a house. There were injuries on its body. Dr Arun Zakaria clarified that some of these injuries are old. The postmortem of the tigress will be conducted in Kuppadi.


The locals responded that the tigressട death was a great relief. The tigress attacked Radha in a coffee plantation on January 24th at Pancharakolly in Mananthavady, killed and then ate half of the body. The locals then staged a strong protest demanding to capture the tigress. On the day of the incident, people stopped Minister O R Kelu. The people later stopped Forest Minister A K Saseendran from visiting Radha’s house.


The tigress was first spotted early Monday morning at 12.30 am when the task force was searching for it after a 48-hour curfew was declared in the area. It was later found dead at 2.30 am.
