MULTAN: Pakistan suffered a defeat in the second cricket Test against the West Indies. Chasing a target of 254 runs, the hosts were bowled out for just 133 runs. Jomel Warrican, who took five wickets in the second innings, dashed Pakistan's hopes of victory. Pakistan had won the first Test earlier, but the visitors struck back in the second match, levelling the series at 1-1. Warrican, who claimed nine wickets in the match, was named the player of the match and the series.

Pakistan resumed play on the third day with six wickets in hand but could only add 57 runs to their overnight score of 76/4. Former captain Babar Azam was the top scorer with 31 runs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan (25), Kamran Ghulam (19), Salman Ali Agha (15), and Saud Shakeel (13) were the only other players to reach double digits.

Captain Shan Masood (2), Mohammad Huraira (2), and Kashif Ali (1) were not able to contribute much with the bat in the top order. Sajid Khan (7) and Nauman Ali (6) managed to add a few runs, while Abrar Ahmed remained unbeaten on 0. Alongside Warrican’s heroics, Kevin Sinclair took three wickets and Gudakesh Motie claimed two for the West Indies. This is the first time in 34 years that the West Indies have managed to defeat Pakistan in Pakistan.
