KUALA LUMPUR: Trisha weaved magic with both bat and ball to gift India a massive victory against Scotland in the Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur. Trisha Gongadi scored her maiden century in the U19 Women’s World Cup and followed it up with a brilliant bowling performance, taking three wickets for just six runs. Chasing India’s total of 208, Scotland were bowled out for a mere 58 in 14 overs, giving India a thumping 150-run victory. Trisha, who opened the Indian innings, smashed an unbeaten 110 runs off just 59 balls.

In Group 1, India and Australia have secured their spots in the semifinals. India will face England in the semis. Interestingly, the two teams also clashed in the final of the previous U19 Women’s World Cup in 2023. In Group B, South Africa and England advanced to the semifinals.

Trisha received excellent support from fellow opener Kamalini, who scored 51 runs off 42 balls. Sanika Chalke contributed with an unbeaten 29 off 20 balls. Trisha’s spectacular innings included 13 fours and four sixes.

In the bowling department, Ayushi Shukla partnered with Trisha to demolish the Scottish batting lineup, taking four wickets for just eight runs in three overs. Vaishnavi Sharma also impressed, conceding only five runs while claiming three wickets.

For Scotland, opener Pippa Kelly was the only batter to show some resistance, scoring 12 runs off six balls. However, the rest of the team failed to rise to the challenge, leading to a comfortable victory for India.
