gopan-swamy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 'Gopan Swami has attained Samadhi' - This was a topic of discussion all over Kerala a few weeks ago. It was a big topic of discussion, including on social media. The Kerala Police and the district administration intervened in the Samadhi controversy, which was unheard of in Kerala recently. The burial crypt erected by his sons was demolished and the body was taken for postmortem. Later, with the support of Hindu organizations, the sons made him sit in Samadhi.

Gopan is made to sit in samadhi near the Kailasanath temple at Kavuvilakam in Neyyattinkara. His son Rajasenan, a priest in the temple performs the puja rituals. Rajasenan said that his father is not Gopan Swami but God. He said many devotees are coming here to see God.

‘The world should know who my father is. My father wanted to make him sit in samadhi. Only by doing that did the world know about my father. Many pilgrims are coming here. Some are coming from distant places. Whatever God decides, it will definitely happen. There is nothing in this world beyond what God decides. All castes and religious groups will come here to pray to God,' said Rajasenan.

However, reports said no pilgrims are visiting the place as mentioned by his son. Even though a representative of a private channel spent several hours there, not a single person had come there to pray. Except for the presence of a few Hindu organizations at the second cremation function, Malayalees and social media seem to have forgotten Gopan and his Samadhi.
