THRISSUR: Courier Dada, the main accused in the gang that smuggles ganja from Mumbai to various states of the country by courier, has been arrested. The arrested is Yogesh Ganapath Rankade (31) of Mulund in Mumbai. The Thrissur City police arrested him.

He was arrested by the DANSAF team of Thrissur City Police and the East Police from Mumbai in a very daring manner. Yogesh and his team used to acquaint with people in various states through social media and send the stuff in the fake addresses provided by them. This did not arouse any suspicion among the employees of the courier companies. Meanwhile, the police received a suspicious four-kilogram parcel of ganja from a courier company in Kokkala, Thrissur. The ganja was hidden expertly. During the investigation in this case, Vishnu of Nedumpuzha, accused in a drug case and running a gymnasium with modern facilities in Padinjare Kotta and sells protein powder, was arrested. It was only when he was questioned information about the Mumbai ganja gang came to light.

Apart from Kerala, this gang has also sold ganga in states of Gujarat, Karnataka, UP and Punjab. He had also smuggled ganja in IT parks in Mumbai. The team arrested Yogesh under the leadership of Thrissur City Police Commissioner Ilango.
