heart-attack

LUCKNOW: A 60-year-old woman died of a heart attack while the doctor on duty was watching reels on his mobile phone. The incident took place at the Maharaja Tej Singh District Hospital in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh. The patient's relatives created a commotion in the hospital afterwards. CCTV footage of the incident has been released.

A woman named Pravesh Kumari was taken to the hospital by her son Gurusharan Singh and other relatives after she complained of severe chest pain. Dr Adarsh Sengar was on duty. Gurusharan alleged that despite repeated requests to examine his mother, the doctor sat watching reels on social media and instructed the nursing staff to check the patient instead of doing it himself.

"When my mother's condition worsened, we created a commotion in the hospital in that state of mind. Finally, the doctor got up in annoyance. But instead of helping my mother, he slapped me. My mother had died by then," said Gurusharan. CCTV footage shows two or three people wearing white coats examining Pravesh Kumari. It is not clear whether they are doctors. Dr Adarsh Sengar can be seen checking his mobile at this time.

Chief Medical Superintendent Madan Lal, who reached the spot, said that the CCTV footage is being examined and strict departmental action will be taken against the doctor if the allegations are found to be true. A large police contingent had also reached the spot following the clash. The police also stated that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
