VADAKARA: Central Committee Member EP Jayarajan and Party Ministers received flak from members during the CPM Kozhikode District Conference. The criticism was made in the presence of both E P Jayarajan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Criticism:

EP had a hand in turning most of the people-friendly policies of the second Pinarayi government into controversies. His meeting with BJP leader Prakash Javadekar also put the party cadres on the defensive. The response from EP on these issues did little to alleviate tensions.

Party ministers and many leaders have failed to counter the opposition's attacks against the government. There is a lack of coordination between ministers as most are obsessed with their departments. Many ministers remain silent when other ministers are countered by opposition inside the assembly.

CM Pinarayi's response to EP issue:

"All such issues were brought to the attention of EP Jayarajan. We are now moving ahead in unity after resolving all those issues."

Addressing the party's failure to deal with the criticism against the Chief Minister in a united manner during the first day's assembly discussion, the delegates on Thursday criticized the party ministers for behaving irresponsibly.
