PUNE: India posted a good total in the fourth T20I against England. India scored 181 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated overs. After an early collapse, half-centuries from Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube gave India a good total. India reached this score from 79 for five. Meanwhile, Malayali star Sanju Samson and captain Suryakumar Yadav disappointed once again.
England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and put India in to bat. Sanju Samson 1(3), Tilak Verma 0(1), Suryakumar Yadav 0(4) were dismissed in the second over bowled by Saqib Mahmood, leaving India at 12-3. Abhishek Sharma 29(19) and Rinku Singh 30(26) put on a 45-run partnership for the fourth wicket. The partnership fell when Abhishek Sharma was dismissed by Adil Rashid.
Rinku also fell when the team reached 79. Later, Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dubey came together at the crease to smash a 53(30) and 53(34) partnership to bring India back into the match. Dube hit two sixes and seven boundaries while Hardik hit four fours and a six each. Axar Patel was dismissed for 5(4). Saqib Mahmood took three wickets for England. Jamie Overton took two wickets while Brydon Carse and Adil Rashid took one wicket each.
