THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rs. 2,340 hidden under the helmet of an attendant was seized in the surprise inspection conducted by the Vigilance Special Investigation Unit 1 at the Pattom Sub-Registrar's office. An unaccounted amount of Rs. 5,200 was recovered from the sub-registrar also. The inspection was based on confidential information received by the Vigilance Director that bribes for registration transactions were being widely accepted through middlemen. A total of Rs. 7,540 was seized by the Vigilance. Vigilance Director Yogesh Gupta requested that information about corruption be reported to the following numbers: 1064, 8592900900.
