VELLAMUNDA: A youth has been arrested for murdering a migrant worker and stuffing the body into bags. The deceased has been identified as Uttar Pradesh native Mukhib (25). The arrested person is Uttar Pradesh native Muhammad Arif (38). The body, which was cut into two pieces and stuffed into bags, was found near the Moolithodu Bridge.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the murder was driven by suspicion of an affair between the victim and the accused’s wife. An auto driver noticed the accused abandoning two bags in different locations and informed the police. When the police arrived, the suspect attempted to flee, but with the help of locals, he was caught and taken into custody. The victim’s body has been moved to the mortuary of Wayanad Medical College Hospital in Mananthavady. Further investigations are underway, and more details are yet to emerge.
