THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Devidasan, an astrologer subjected to police interrogation in the murder of a two-year-old girl in Balaramapuram, denied having any role in the case. Last day, he was taken into police custody based on the complaint filed by the child's mother Sreethu. After detailed questioning, Devidasan was released on station bail. The astrologer also denied allegations of him working as a broker for a property deal.

DEVIDASAN:

“I am not a spiritual master nor a sage. I haven’t worked as a broker for property deals but I am an astrologer, a family man. Accused Harikumar was with me before the pandemic season. He used to work with me and I also knew his family. Harikumar was an honest and genuine soul at work.

But things started to go south after some time. Like a mental disorder, Harikumar started creating issues and his family were informed. Some seven months back, Sreethu came to see me with her husband. In normal cases, Hari’s mother and sister used to collect his salary."

At the same time, the police are yet to solve the mystery behind the murder. Harikumar confessed to the crime but is not ready to spill out the reason, which forced him to do the cruel act. Yesterday evening, the police went to the house and collected evidence. At night, Harikumar was produced in the court, remanded and transferred to Neyyattinkara Jail. Balaramapuram police will file a custody application in the court today for re-interrogation.
