CHENNAI: A seven-year-old Malayali boy died tragically in Chennai after a goalpost fell on him. Advik, son of Rajesh Panikkar and Sreelakshmi, natives of Thiruvalla, died. Advik was a class I student at a school in Avadi. The incident took place at the Air Force staff quarters in Avadi, Chennai.

The goalpost was leaning against a stone. The boy tried to run away when he saw the post falling while playing in the quarters, but the post fell on his head. The injured Advik was immediately taken to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. The Muthapudupet police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident. Advik's father, Rajesh, is an Air Force employee in Avadi, Chennai.
