budget

NEW DELHI: There is no word 'Kerala' in the second budget of the third Modi government also. There is no AIIMS this time too. No special schemes were announced for the state of Kerala. A special package was requested for Wayanad relief, but that also was not granted.

The announcement related to Kerala in the central budget is that additional infrastructure will be expanded in the five IITs that were started after Modi came to power in 2014. IIT Palakkad was started in July 2015. When 6,500 more students are provided with study facilities, Palakkad will also get some seats.

The announcement that 50 tourist destinations in the country will be developed through public-private funding with the participation of states is hopeful. There needs to be clarity on whether tourist destinations in Kerala will be included. The states should provide land for providing infrastructure.

Packages that were not received despite asking for them
