THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A case for fraud will be registered against Sreethu, mother of the two-year-old girl murdered in Balaramapuram. The case is being registered on the complaint of extorting money from many after promising jobs in Devaswom Board. It is reported that her arrest will be recorded soon.

The police had received several complaints against Sreethu for fraud. An FIR was registered in two of these complaints. Sreethu introduced herself as a top officer in the Devaswom Board. However, the police clarified that Sreethu has not even worked on a contract basis in the Devaswom Board.

Sreethu extorted money saying that she has a salary of Rs 2 lakh and that she can get them a job in the Devaswom Board. The police have received information that PTA members from a school in the area have also fallen into her trap. The police are also recording their statements. Sreethu told police that she had given all this money to astrologer Devidasan to build a house for her. The police are checking the bank and phone details of Devidasan and Sreethu. The phone will be subjected to forensic examination.

A woman, also a neighbor of Sreethu said the family has a lot of financial problems. 'Got a job in the Devaswom Board. She told us that she is drawing more than Rs one lakh monthly. Sreethu's mother Ragini Chechi also said the same thing. She has extorted nearly Rs 10 lakh from many promising jobs,’ she said.

'None of the people who gave money had caused any problems. If anybody asks her, she say will give tomorrow. They will then go. She will take a photo of her father's leg and send it to the people from whom she has borrowed money. She will then say that her father is in the hospital,’ said another woman.
