THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The sub-collector has issued a crucial order in the incident of evicting elderly parents from their home at Ayiroor in Varkala. The sub-collector has ordered the three children to deposit Rs 10,000 in their parents’ bank accounts before the 10th of every month.

The three children must ensure their protection by paying the expenses for their parents' medicine, food and clothing equally. The order also stipulates that their peaceful life should not be hindered in the house where they live. A copy of the sub-collector's order has been handed over to the parents.

After the police registered a case yesterday, the daughter had handed over the keys of the house to her parents. The Ayiroor police had registered a case against the daughter and son-in-law in the incident of evicting her elderly parents from their home.

The police had taken legal action against Siji and her husband Bahuleyan, working as a pharmacist in Wayanad, on the complaint of evicting her cancer-stricken father Sadasivan (79) and mother Sushama (72) from their house at Ayiroor in Varkala on Friday evening. The case has been filed under Section 24 of the Care and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, Fraudulent Inducement, False Promises and Concealment of Material Facts.
