KANNUR: CPM leader P K Sreemathy said that if the court finds actor and Mukesh MLA guilty in the actress' sexual assault complaint, the government will not give any relaxation to him. She said this while talking to the media during the CPM Kannur district meet.

‘The Democratic Women's Association is well aware that the government is not adopting a policy approach of saving such people once they are found guilty. Many states in India have said that the action taken by the government in the Hema Committee is exemplary. If the court finds him guilty, the government will not give any relaxation. This government stands for the victim,' said Sreemathy.

The special investigation team had filed a charge sheet against Mukesh in the Ernakulam First Class Judicial Magistrate's Court the other day on the complaint of the actress of Aluva. The complaint against Mukesh alleged that he sexually exploited her by promising her roles in films and membership in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The charge sheet said all the allegations against Mukesh have been proved and digital evidence including email messages and WhatsApp chats have been received.

The case was initially registered by the Ernakulam Maradu police. The complaint said that she was sexually abused at a villa in Ernakulam and repeated the act in Thrissur. With this, the police registered cases in both places and filed charge sheets. Mukesh had earlier been granted anticipatory bail in this case.
