KOTTAYAM: A woman died after her son-in law set her on fire by dousing petrol on her in Pala. Her son-in-law also died of burns. The dead are Nirmala (58), wife of Soman of Anthiyalam and her son-in-law Manoj (42). Police said a family dispute led to the crime. Manoj reached her home last night and then poured petrol on her body and set her on fire.

The fire then spread to his body also. The locals who heard the commotion informed the fire force and the police. The fire force immediately shifted the two to Pala General hospital and then to Kottayam Medical College. The two who sustained 60% burns died this morning.
