MANANTHAVADY: Two tigers were found dead in the inner forest of Wayanad. A male and a female tiger died in the Kurichyad forest. It is believed that the tigers died fighting each other. The bodies of the tigers were found by forest officials during patrolling. The bodies were found this evening.
Forest Minister A.K. Saseendran announced an investigation into the incident and issued an order appointing a special investigation team. The investigation will be led by the Northern Circle CCF. The bodies of the tigers will be subjected to postmortem as part of this.
Earlier, another tiger was found dead in the Meppadi area. A male tiger was found dead near the Meppadi Kootamunda substation in the morning. The body was found by workers of Poddar Coffee Plantation. The forest department completed the preliminary examination and found that the body was a week old.
