LONDON: A lady police officer has been dismissed from service for sexually harassing male colleagues. The incident took place in the UK. Tia Johnson Warne, a police constable in Hampshire was dismissed after she was found guilty of sexually harassing two colleagues at Wetherspoons pub while under the influence of alcohol.
Tia also sent an inappropriate phone message to one officer who resisted her advances. According to the tribunal's findings, she touched another officer's private parts for about 20 seconds. Tia's boyfriend, also a police officer, was present at the pub. Though disciplinary action was initially taken against him for inappropriate behaviour, he was later cleared. Following a hearing in Eastleigh, Tia was placed on the College of Policing's barred list.
Deputy Chief Constable Sam De Rey strongly criticized Tia’s behaviour, calling it disgraceful. "It is shameful that a police officer acted in such a manner. No officer should have to experience such behaviour from a colleague. Whether on duty or off duty, this is unacceptable. Police officers must always maintain the highest standards, as our actions impact the entire force. Therefore, dismissing Tia was the right decision," Sam De Rey stated.
