CUTTACK: India clinched the ODI series against England after winning the second ODI match in Cuttack by four wickets. As an icing on the cake, captain Rohit Sharma revived his old batting fireworks, and ended up scoring a century. With the Champions trophy just a week away, Rohit’s return to fine form is nothing short of a booster to the Indian camp. India vs England 3rd ODI will be played in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Rohit Sharma's 119(90) and Shubman Gill's 60(52) helped India massively surpass the giant total set by England. Gill was clean-bowled by Overton. Coming in third, Virat Kohli failed to shine, scoring just five runs from eight balls. Rohit Sharma later anchored the course of the game with his 32nd ODI century. His innings consisted of 12 fours and seven sixes.

England captain Jos Buttler, who won the toss earlier, decided to bat first. England scored a humungous 304 runs in 49.5 overs. If not for the late-found efforts from Indian bowlers, the England score might have gone beyond 350 runs. Opener Ben Duckett 65(56) and Joe Root 69(72) scored half-centuries. Philip Salt 26(29), Harry Brook 31(52), captain Jos Buttler 34(35) and Liam Livingston 41(32) also contributed to the score.

For India, Ravindra Jadeja conceded just 35 runs in ten overs and took three wickets. Mohammad Shami, Harshit Rana, Hardik Pandya and Varun Chakraborty got one wicket each.
