WAYANAD: It is reported that a complaint was filed against the second accused Ananthu Krishnan in the half-price fraud case from Wayanad in October itself. Sirajuddin of Bathery, complained to the police in October 2024 that he suspected corruption in purchasing goods at half price. The complaint was filed with the Wayanad SP at that time. However, the police closed the investigation on that day, stating that there was no complaint anywhere that the products were not received. The police informed the complainant about this.
Representatives of various voluntary organizations revealed that about a thousand voluntary organizations were made members of the NGO Confederation by misleading them that they would receive CSR funds from companies. K N Ananda Kumar introduced Ananthu Krishnan as the national coordinator at the 2023 Confederation meeting. According to the office bearers of the voluntary organization, K N Ananda Kumar, who is also the life chairman of the Confederation, said that if the products were not received, he would return the money. On this assurance, beneficiaries were identified and crores of rupees were collected and disbursed.
A small share was promised to voluntary organizations as a commission every year in proportion to the number of customers they recruited. Other voluntary organization office bearers at the confederation meeting complained that BJP state vice president A N Radhakrishnan's organization called Sign was providing assistance for political interests. Ananda Kumar then took a stand in favour of A N Radhakrishnan, said the organization office bearers.
