THRISSUR: A man attacked his mother by slitting her mother’s throat in Kodungallur. Muhammed (24) attacked his mother Zeenath (53), wife of Jaleel of Azheekode. Seriously injured Zeenath has been admitted in the medical college. The Kodungallur police has taken Muhammed into custody. He is a drug addict.

The incident happened last night. Muhammed came home afer taking drugs and engaged in a fight with his mother. He then slit his mother’s throat in a fit of rage. Seriously injured Zeenath was first taken to a private hospital in Ernakulam and then shifted to the medical college hospital.

He had attacked his father three years ago. He stabbed him with a knife then. The police had registered a case against him then.

A youth had recently had hacked his mother to death in Thamarassery. Subaida (53) was murdered by her son Aashiq (24). ‘Murder is punishment for giving birth. I implemented that punishment,’ the youth said after committing the crime.

Aashiq had borrowed a sword from his neighbour saying that he wants to crack open a coconut. He then entered his house and hacked his mother to death. Subaida sustained serious injuries on her neck and died before reaching the hospital. The accused was a drug addict.

The accused studied up to Plus Two in his hometown. After that, he studied in Kozhikode. It is reported that he started using drugs here. Subaida, is the daughter of Soopi and Sara Beevi.
