UDIYANKULANGARA: The suspect who attacked the Parasala Block Panchayat Office has been arrested. Binu (48), a resident of Puthenveetil, Ayira, Vaduvoorkonam, Parasala was arrested. The suspect was arrested from his home during an investigation based on CCTV footage of the attack. The Parasala Block Office, Conference Hall and Block Secretary's vehicle were found vandalized last Sunday.

The suspect had vandalized the CCTV systems of the Parassala Block Panchayat Office. However, the police got clues about the suspect after examining the CCTV footage installed in the nearby areas. The police said that they were then targeting the suspect based on fingerprint evidence and other scientific evidence. The suspect will be brought to the spot today and produced in court after collecting evidence. The Parassala police said that the details of the attack will be clear only after further questioning.

He is an accused in the case of vandalizing the Vaduvoorkonam water tank and the case of stealing lamps by breaking open the Ganapathy temple. He was released from jail 15 days ago. Cases are pending against him in stations including Parassala and Pozhiyur.

The complaint is that there is a loss of about Rs. 25 lakh in the incident of vandalizing the Parasala block office. In the wake of allegations that important files were destroyed in connection with the attack, KPCC Secretary Dr. R. Vatsalan demanded a thorough investigation and action against the culprits.
