THRISSUR: Clashes broke out during a KSU march in Thrissur, which alleged that the police were protecting SFI activists. Several KSU activists were injured in the police lathicharge and water cannon. The police lathicharged again as the activists were leaving, which led to the clash.

The lathicharge was carried out while former MP TN Prathapan and others were sending the KSU activists back. Enraged by this, Prathapan argued with the police officers. A scuffle ensued.

KSU State President Aloysius Xavier was among those injured in the clash. The march alleged that the police were protecting SFI activists in the violence related to the Calicut University D-Zone Kalolsavam.
