KOTTAYAM: A shocking video footage of the ragging episode in Kottayam Govt Nursing College emerged that showed junior students being tied to cots and being subjected to heinous atrocities. Many are seen writhing in pain when culprits apply lotion on their bruises.

A geometry divider is used to inflict bruises on body parts on all victims. When crying, the lotion will be poured into the mouth and eyes. Following this comes the worst part. Heavy dumbbells hung on the private parts of all the victims. Meanwhile, one of the accused stabs the stomach with a compass saying 'I will draw a circle'. The victim is seen pleading with the senior to stop but the response comes “How can I stop at this sexy body?

The appellants and the accused are students of the three-year general nursing course for Scheduled Tribes. Currently, a case has been registered on the complaint of one person.

Songs will be played on maximum sound on the ground floor to stifle the cries of the students. Most of the days, songs will be played at loud noises and barely any people come into this space. The torture videos were shot on the phone of the accused and the same was used as a threat to not reveal the news outside.

There are a total of 24 people at the hostel. Three people are in charge of the hostel. The housekeeper lives in the outhouse adjacent to the hostel. By 9.30 pm the hostel will be locked and the housekeeper goes to sleep. At this time, the torture begins.
