KOCHI: Antony Perumbavoor's statement against producer G Suresh Kumar, who announced a film strike from June 1, has led to a new fight in the Malayalam film industry. The producers' association will issue a statement today in support of Suresh Kumar. The producers' association said the statement of Suresh Kumar at the press conference two days ago were not a decision taken by him alone.
It is being reported that the producers' association is planning to meet Antony Perumbavoor in person after his harsh criticism against Suresh Kumar. Actors Basil Joseph and Aparna Balamurali had come forward supporting Antony Perumbavoor. Suresh Kumar had also responded to Antony Perumbavoor's criticism the other day. Suresh Kumar's response was that the decision to strike was not taken single handedly but collectively. Antony Perumbavoor does not attend meetings. He clarified that the minutes related to this can be examined.
Meanwhile, actor and director Prithviraj also came in support of Antony Perumbavoor. Prithviraj had shared Antony Perumbavoor's Facebook post. Prithviraj has written along with the post, ‘Is everything Ok, Anna?’ Antony's post mentioned differences of opinion with Suresh Kumar in the producers' organization. Along with that, Antony has also criticized Suresh Kumar's statement that the budget of the new film Empuraan is 141 crores.
