KOCHI: The producers association turned against Antony Perumbavoor in connection with the dispute within the film association. The association termed as wrong questioning Suresh Kumar via social media. The producers' association clarified that it was inappropriate for Antony to take a public stand without attending the meeting and the decision to strike was taken after a joint meeting.

The association is trying to meet Antony Perumbavoor to discuss the issue. Suresh Kumar had earlier come forward with harsh criticisms. However, producers’ association joint secretary Sandeep Senan said the fight in the film industry is between actors and producers. There is no difference of opinion within the organization. Sandeep Senan responded that it was the actors who came forward against the organization's stand.

Producer Antony Perumbavoor had yesterday made public the differences of opinion of the members against the film producers association's decision to suspend shooting and strike from June 1. Antony strongly criticized president G Suresh Kumar, who announced the strike under pressure from other organizations.

Antony wrote on Facebook that the strike will not benefit the film industry. It is not individuals who should decide to close theaters and stop shooting, but the organization should consider and announce it. If someone else has said something, Suresh Kumar should show the courage, responsibility and maturity to recognize the truth and correct it. Antony also said that the office bearers led by president Anto Joseph should be ready to correct the mistake.

He spoke insulting and challenging the films that have reached the hundred crore club. Entering the crore clubs is done by adding the income from the theater and other income. Suresh Kumar's statement that if an actor produces a film, will not allow to screen it, is not feasible. It is also not appropriate for him to talk about the budget of Empuraan which he is producing. Like KGF, the film is being made with the dream of a multilingual success. The crew behind the screen including the director have been working for two years. Mohanlal is also cooperating. It is disappointing and sad that the association does not support such an initiative.

It is also not right to criticize films using the figures of January. There have been ups and downs and successes and failures since the beginning of films. Antony clarified that criticizing the film industry based on only one month's income is not a healthy and mature intervention.
