HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has relaxed working hours for Muslim government employees during the month of Ramadan. The relaxation is from March 2 to 31. The order states that Muslim government employees can finish work and return from the office by 4 pm. The order was issued by Chief Secretary A Shanthakumari.

The relaxation is applicable to government employees, teachers, contractors, corporation and public sector employees. However, the Chief Secretary's order has clarified that Muslim employees should work longer hours if necessary in areas where there is a shortage of staff.
