KUNNATHUR: A former KSU leader hailing from Karimthottuva in Kollam, died of a heart attack in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Karimthottuva native Shibu Joy (46), died in the incident. He had been working as a technician in a company in Dammam for many years. Shibu collapsed while at work and was rushed to the hospital, but his life could not be saved.

Former taluk president of KSU, Shibu Joy was an active presence in the overseas Congress diaspora. Shibu was lethal when it came to supporting Congress on social media and used to get into heated exchanges only for the party he loved.

No decision has been taken on bringing the mortal remains to India. Shibu leaves behind his wife Sonia and children Emmanuel and Sona.
