KOZHIKODE: A youth was abducted and brutally beaten in Koduvally. A gang kidnapped Shabeer Ali, manager of a private marketing firm in Omassery last Monday. The youth complained that the gang attacked him following business disputes and that Firoz Khan, the owner of the firm is behind the act.

The complaint said Shabeer Ali was taken to a resort in Kodenchery and then to a vacant house in Thamarassery, where he was stripped, beaten brutally and then the gang rubbed chilli powder on his wounds. Firoz Khan later abandoned Shabeer Ali, who was in a weak condition in Thamarassery town the other day.

The injured youth was first admitted to a hospital in Thamarassery and later to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. No internal injuries were found in the examination. It is being reported that huge financial transactions are behind the kidnapping of the youth. Shabeer Ali's wife told police that a group had come to their house and threatened him before the attack. Meantime, his family alleged that despite filing a complaint at Koduvally station, no proper investigation is being carried out. It is reported that the police have started an investigation into the incident.
