BENGALURU: The search is ongoing to find the doctor who went missing after jumping into a river in Koppal district in Karnataka. The missing person is Dr. Ananya Mohan Rao (26), a doctor from a private hospital in Telangana. The incident took place yesterday morning in the Tungabhadra River. Ananya had arrived in the Annapurna area of Koppal district, to celebrate a vacation with friends.

The accident happened while her friends were filming a video. Ananya jumped from a tall rock formation into the strong currents of the river. Despite a search lasting for over a day and a half, she has not yet been found. Ananya and her friends were staying at a guest house in Sanapura, and the accident occurred while they were filming a video with the Tungabhadra River as the backdrop.

Locals say that the doctor, who was unfamiliar with the area, jumped into the river from a high rock formation. They also mentioned that there are dangerous rocks at the bottom of the river. A video of Ananya jumping into the river is circulating on social media.
