MUNDAKAYAM: A man who was travelling along with his wife died in a horrific road accident near 35th mile on Thursday. Madappally native Vijayakumar (66) died in the incident. The car travelling from Changanassery to Kattappana collided with a Taurus lorry carrying cement from Tamil Nadu to Kottayam. The accident happened around 11.30 on Thursday morning.

Vijayakumar's wife Mini who was in the car suffered injuries. The accident occurred while the couple was going to their daughter's house in Nedumkandam. The front part of the car was destroyed in the accident.
