ANCHAL: Two Plus One students were injured in a brutal assault by a group of Plus Two students at Kottukkal Vayal, Anchal. The injured students are S. Vaishakh (16) and S.A. Abhinand (16), both Plus-One science students from Vayala VVMGHSS School.

The attack occurred yesterday at around 12:45 p.m. in front of the school. The Plus One students were having model exams in the afternoon. As Abhinand and Vaishakh stepped out of the bus, a group of Plus-Two students attacked them near the school gate. Abhinand and Vaishakh, the first to disembark, were assaulted, while the remaining students escaped as the bus door was swiftly closed. The attackers used stones and other objects during the assault, and it took considerable effort from bystanders to break up the fight.

Reports suggest that tensions between Plus-One and Plus-Two students had been ongoing for a while, with occasional clashes escalating into physical confrontations. In a previous incident, a complaint was filed with the police, which led to a settlement at the station. However, the latest altercation was reportedly triggered by an argument over an Instagram post, which resulted in verbal abuse and, eventually, yesterday’s violent encounter.

The injured students sought treatment at Kadakkal Taluk Hospital. Abhinand sustained a head injury. A complaint has been filed against nine Plus-Two students at the Kadakkal police station, and further investigation is underway.
