KOCHI: The High Court has directed the government to inform when the Wayanad rehabilitation projects will start and when they will be completed. The details of the projects should also be informed. The documents and details should be filed at least two or three days in advance.

The court was considering the petition related to the Chooralmala-Mundakai rehabilitation. The government's concerns regarding the utilisation of the Rs 529.50 crore loan granted by the central government to Wayanad should be conveyed to the court in writing. Adv. General K. Gopalakrishna Kurup informed that clarification has been sought from the centre.

The documents in this regard were submitted to the court yesterday. The court expressed dissatisfaction over not being informed of the information earlier. It was not handed over to the central government's lawyer either.

The Disaster Management Authority has announced that the work of removing debris accumulated in the rivers in the disaster-affected areas will begin in the first week of March and be completed before the monsoon season. The court said that things need to be done in practice, not on paper. The court directed that a timetable be given for this on March 3, when the petition will be considered again.
